What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
Supporting individual and collective healing, social justice and health equity. I work to design models of trauma-informed, resiliency-supporting systems of healthcare and prevent violence and trauma through healthcare-community partnerships. I lead a medical school education program that promotes social justice and health equity. When I began practicing medicine in the early 1990's in under-resourced settings it was immediately clear that the people I was privileged to care for had faced life and health-altering trauma with immense courage and individual and collective resilience. I became an advocate for addressing immediate and life-long trauma in primary care healthcare practice then.
