What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
I am a former clinical psychiatrist focused on suicide prevention, mentored by Dr. Edwin Shneidman, and had no patients die by suicide in 25+ years (with my main approach being Targeted Interventional Empathy. I co-created and moderated the multi-honored documentary, "Stay Alive: An Intimate Conversation about Suicide Prevention," creator of the Design Thinking Suicide Prevention program, am the author of seven books including: PTSD for Dummies and "Just Listen" (which became the top book on listening in the world), host of the "Stay Alive" and "My Wakeup Call" podcasts. I am a TEDx speaker and speak internationally on listening an empathy.
My interest is that my latest work has been able to help adults recover from ACE using a visualization approach that consists of adults going back to their child selves at the moment of trauma and empathically walking their traumatized selves through an empathic healing using the approach on themselves that I used with suicidal patients for 25 years.
