What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)

I'm a seasoned business development executive and speaker with a passion for growing companies dedicated to providing access to evidence-based mental & behavioral health & wellness programs.

What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?

Currently looking for a full-time position. See above for my profession. Volunteer as Co-organizer for the LGBTQ community in PACEsconnection.com

What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?

I was raised in a very chaotic alcoholic household and have an ACE score of six. I coped with food as a child and then added alcohol and drugs as a teen. I have been steeped in personal development work for 30 years. However, it was only in 2017 after reading Bessell van der Kolk's book "The Body Keeps The Score" that I realized that many of my decade-long struggles with anxiety, obesity & relationships were based on un-diagnosed, & therefore un-treated complex PTSD AKA childhood trauma. I also discovered that this type of trauma cannot be healed by talk therapy alone. It also needs body-based, somatic types of treatments to fully resolve. Since understanding the root cause of my most difficult struggles in life was at the root caused by complex PTSD, I totally immersed myself in understanding what this type of trauma is and how to heal my brain, body, and mind. After several years of intense study on complex PTSD and its most common symptoms (addiction, obesity, relationship difficulties, etc.), I decided I share what I'd learned so I could help fellow survivors heal sooner My book "It's Not About Food, Drugs, or Alcohol: It's About Healing Complex PTSD" was published in paperback and Kindle format on Amazon.com in February of 2023. It's a blending of memoir, science-based research, and a step-by-step Complex PTSD workbook and recovery guide to ending the struggle with food, weight, substances, and close relationships by healing the root cause: C-PTSD

If you're part of a community-based PACEs initiative, which one?

I am the co-organizer for the LGBTQ community in PACEsconnection.com
