What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)

I recently retired from a nonprofit that my husband and I helped found, Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership (SHIP) of Frederick County, MD. We worked with homeless youth and families in our Frederick County Public Schools and those homeless unaccompanied youth in the community. www.shipfrederick.com

What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?

I am a member of Trauma Responsive Frederick (TRF), which is a collaborative workgroup whose mission is to: To use our passion and expertise to guide the Frederick County community in becoming trauma-responsive through education, partnership, and advocacy. I sit on the Steering Committee.

What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?

All of the work I have done over the past 9 years has been focused on supporting the needs of folks experiencing homelessness, living with mental health issues, and fighting hard for services and change. Our systems and laws actually prevent these individuals from reaching their potential and becoming productive members of our communities.

If you're part of a community-based PACEs initiative, which one?

I am not at this time.
