What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)
I am the executive director of a nonprofit organization. My degree is in psychology, plus some specialized practicums in psychiatry (for nurses) and special education certifications. Currently I am in a graduate program with my concentration in Applied Behavioral Analysis. I also have a daughter diagnosed with Developmental Trauma from pre-adoptive abuse.
We just added an advocacy workshop series to teach parents how to best advocate for their children in public school. I moderate an online listserv for parents of traumatized children (most of them adopted - some with medical trauma)
What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?
INCIID Inc.
What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
I am interested in promoting the trauma informed education - particularly in schools where there is almost NO trauma information let alone practice. I also have a daughter that suffered horrific pre-adoptive abuse and who is diagnosed with Developmental Trauma Disorder - it was a real fight to educate the schools - we eventually were forced to move into a neighboring county where she is now getting trauma informed educational services under our guidance.
