What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)
I am a faculty member at Rutgers and teach graduate students in health professions programs. I also conduct community-based research in Newark and have worked in Newark for 30 years - 20 of those years in pediatric HIV care.
What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?
Rutgers University, School of Health Professions, Department of Interdisciplinary Studies. I am also a volunteer Crises Response Advocate for Rutgers Office of Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance and I am certified as a Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate and a Domestic Violence Advocate.
What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
I am interested in advancing health professions education to explicitly include social determinants of equity such as TIC in patient-centered care. I am involved in several projects at Rutgers that will benefit from more community input.
