What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
I learned about ACES in 2007 when I participated in annual gatherings for three years with the Palix Foundation (Alberta Family Wellness). I met Dr. Filetti and many world renowned researchers who were bridging the worlds of Early Childhood Development and Addiction. I brought the ACEs information to the First Nations College where I worked as Team Lead for Social Work programs and embedded the information in our curriculum and into other First Nations Institutes in Alberta.
If you're part of a community-based PACEs initiative, which one?
I do not belong to any initiative except local efforts to help people understand that the colonial and residential school history in Canada has caused extremely high rates of ACEs, that the history is all about Trauma.
