I volunteer at the Mental health association of Frederick. I work at the Frederick County Office of the Public Defender
What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
Higher ACE scores can contribute to negatively influencing education outcomes, employment, income earnings, and an individual’s overall health as well as one's life expectancy. ACEs also affect ones mental development for a lifetime to include how one copes with life stressors. ACEs have a much wider and profound impact on individual and society. Bringing ACE awareness to my community is critical in changing the cycle for the next generation. ACEs sounds like it is all doom and gloom but I hope my community will eventually have a better understanding on the effects of trauma how is negatively affects one's ability to access the skills needed to develop healthy coping mechanisms.
