What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)
Tammy Kennington is a writer, speaker, and child abuse prevention advocate. Familiar with the impact of trauma, mental illness, and parenting in the hard places, Tammy leads women toward a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationship with the God who loves them.
The author of five children's nonfiction books, Tammy's work has been featured by Thriving Family, The Upper Room, Light from the Word, and several other publications.
Besides enjoying playing board games and walks with the family and their 95-pound lap dog, Tammy enjoys connecting with other women over a cup of tea. You can also meet with her online at www.tammykennington.com where you can download her free e-book, Moving From Pain to Peace: A Journey Toward Hope When the Past Holds You Captive.
What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?
Tammy writes a monthly column for NAASCA (National Association for Adult Survivors of Child Abuse)
What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
As someone who survived child abuse, I want to make an impact in the lives of others by advocating for children through educating schools, churches, and individuals about the impact of ACEs as well as the possibility of "breaking the cycle". I also support survivors like myself in their healing journeys and anticipate the publication of a faith-based book in late 2023-early 2024.
If you're part of a community-based PACEs initiative, which one?
Faith-based
