Thanks for sharing this wonderful resource.Β In this video Dr. Blaustein clearly describes and discusses the signs and symptoms of traumatic stress in children and also some strategies for caregivers.Β She speaks about the importance of staying calm and being attuned -two cornerstones of the CAPPD (stands for Stay Calm, Be Attuned, Present and Predictable and Don't escalate when the child escalates) framework that we developedΒ to help providers working with young children who have experienced trauma.Β We've also developed a resource to help providers stay "CAPPD" - a small card with the CAPPD acronym on one side and space to write a personal safety plan on the other side (used with permission from the Sanctuary Model).Β A sample of the card is on our website at http://http://www.multiplyingconnections.org/become-trauma-informed/cappd-cards and they can be ordered from us for a nominal cost.Β TheΒ Sanctuary Model advocates that everyone in an organization have a personal safety plan they carry with them at all times.Β Our cards were designed so that they can fit in a wallet or slip into an id badge.
