I am curious if anyone is collecting ACE data about their organizations?
1. Do you collect ACE information at the individual level? If so, how are you collecting the information?
2. If you are collecting ACE information, do you collect on the entire organization or just a select cohort?
3. How do you "use" this informational to understand the organization?
2. Is anyone using ACE scores to help understand vicarious trauma patterns within an organization?

This is an interesting question, Jeff. During interviews, I almost always ask, and I'm surprised that more organizations aren't asking employees, especially the ones who are screening their clients for ACEs.
Aren't you doing the transition to a Sanctuary organization? Does that transition include being aware of employees' ACEs? Or their resilience scores?
We are starting to give ACE to staff as they attend trauma informed training sessions. Staff at different program offices will complete the survey anonymously so results will be complied by office location. I am not sure how we will use the data yet but see this as a first step in helping management become more aware of the Ace’s their own staff have experienced. Will keep you posted.

How are you all using the ACE data from the consumers?
I collected ACE Data in an Infectious Disease Clinic in the MidSouth to increase the clinic staff awareness of the impact ACE has on adherence to medication and medical follow-ups. Health Care Providers do not get ACE education in their specialty education and have no idea the impact it has on adults health outcomes. Nor do they realize the impact their ACE brings to their practice and ability to partner in health with their clients. Cohort study 2010
Jeff, I have been able to work with agencies across the spectrum of social services and education, each setting has been able to use the ACE survey in multiple ways that work for that agency. For example in Juvenile Justice settings the ACE survey is used as part of the intake process to 1. Inform the Juvenile Court Officer. 2. Compile the data for downstream RFP's and 3. possible referral. In Education settings (alternative schools) ACE scores are used to remind the school staff of ongoing issues of challenge for the student and as a reminder that the child might be using survival skills. In Individual treatment centers the survey is being used to create correlates between the ACE score and service utilization cost. If an individual agency can demonstrate that their trauma informed environment can alter the downstream service utilization using the ACE score as a baseline they can advocate for their services from a cost savings and a reduced recidivism perspective.
