Greetings,

My  name is Shirley Fleming.  I looking for information regarding programming that focuses on trauma-informed and healing-centered care of childbearing age girls/women, pregnant girls/women and children 1-3 years of age in faith communities.   I'd greatly appreciate any contacts or information.  Please send the information to sfleming@uic.edu

I would encourage you to look over Mind Matters: Overcoming Adversity and Building Resilience because it is designed to be taught by paraprofessionals to groups or to individuals.

It is focused on adults and, of course, children benefit when their parents are on the path towards healing. It is being used with young parents to help them learn self-soothing skills, emotional regulation, and build habits and practices that are protective of their healing process.

I’m confident that faith communities will find it easy to add in any faith based components that they find helpful like prayer or scripture.

Please let me know if you would like me to send you an 30 day free online review copy.

Hello Rev. Dr. Fleming,

Your question represents a powerful intersection! Thank you for posting it here on ACEs Connection - and shining a light onto this important area of inquiry.

If you have not done so already, please consider asking this question on the https://www.pacesconnection.com...ternal-mental-health community.

Additionally, James Heckman, a Nobel Prize winning economist, demonstrates the greatest ROI is during the perinatal period. It is a powerful two generation approach.

Thank you for all you do to support vulnerable women, children and families. I look forward to learning more about your efforts.
