I was wondering if anyone has experience with administering trauma screenings with a primarily immigrant and refugee patient population, many of whom have recently arrived to the U.S. from war or refugee camps after being displaced by war. We would like to know more about the screening healthcare settings have used with adults and children, when they asked the questions (first visit? later visits?), and what their experience has been in asking the questions, since such a high percentage of the patient population has experienced a lot of trauma. The healthcare setting that is interested in using a screening tool has a social work team on staff experienced in trauma-informed care and trauma treatment for children and adults.
