I'm an ally, not a Community Champion, so I like to share examples of the healing power of trauma-informed care. On the old website, I could send my FB followers to see it applied to alternative h.s. students in Paper Tigers and Resilience: the Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope if they're willing and able to pay the fee.
I haven't found either on the new website. I'd also like to see a link to Bathing Without Battles (BWAB) a training for staff at nursing homes and assistive living facilities to improve hygiene for residents who resist being cold due to trauma from war.
All the science on your site and everything that the CDC AND PREVENTION says about how TIC reduces costs, and also what SAMHSA says are interesting support for spreading the good news of the healing power of offering resilience factors, but my FB friends don't want to learn about the scientific basis for PACES.
Like many FB users, they ARE interested in watching movies or video clips than reading a lot of research.
Furthermore, STORIES from documentaries are far more effective in changing people's hearts about how to interact with people who exhibit behavioral health disorders. Everyone is qualified to offer person-centered care, listen, and respond with respect and courtesy rather than responding out of anger, frustration, and feelings of powerlessness frustration . These are powerfully effective and healing when working with people who exhibit behavioral health disorders, whether children, adults, or inmates at correctional facilities who ACQUIRE or EXACERBATE mental illness when confined to isolation units. For support, see this report on the psychological effects of isolation: https://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/...ep=rep1&type=pdf
Thank you for the very important work y'all are doing!
