Member question:
What are best practices for healthcare providers to assess and identify children and youth who are or have experienced human trafficking
I am seeking materials designed to educate and inform the practice of professional staff - nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, etc. who encounter and assess at-risk children and youth who may be experiencing or have had a history of human trafficking.
Is anyone aware of best practice guidelines, or other trauma-informed resources designed to inform the practice of healthcare providers as they assess and interview children and youth who are suspected to have experienced human trafficking. Specifically, can you share any interviewing tools or other instruments designed to identify human trafficking among children and youth.
Thank you in advance for any resources, suggestions or other support.
