Strength of character, where does it comes from, how it is cultivated, why it is of such great value and why should it be admired—even honored.
Where does strength of character come from?
Strength of character comes form deep within ones soul. It begins from an awareness of the world we live in and the people we walk with, talk with and share our lives with each day. It grows from mindful endeavors, deliberate acts of kindness and well thought out plans. Selflessness rather than selfishness are the roots that produce this kind of strength.
How is strength of character cultivated?
Strength of character is cultivated by endurance. Holding on to hope, not giving up, and working toward a goal. It requires seeing beyond the present circumstances and keeping a grip on justice, fairness and what you know to be right.
Why is strength of character of such great value?
Strength of character is of great value because of its gift bestowed upon others. Like me, a six year old girl who saw her grandmother endure hardships, cruelty and the unfaithfulness of others and yet spread her love and generosity to others—even undeserving ones. This was the legacy my grandmother left to me. How do you put a price on that?
Why should strength of character be admired? even honored?
Imagine if we lived in a world without people who have this strength of character. Who would wipe away tears, mend broken people and show us how to love? Can you think of someone who has this great gift? Can you in some way honor them?
Anna Horak my Grandma, I your Jane, write this to thank and honor you.
