Hello Amie.  I am working with a colleague to format a one-day conference for health system chaplains in a nearby state.  We have roughed out an agenda and are identifying potential speakers.  The concept is introductory trauma/TIC:  overview of the brain science, the ACE Study, prevalence in the population and 'universal precautions' and how a chaplain might proceed to support someone (vs. offering evidence-based therapies), vicarious trauma and self-care.  I am very interested to hear what others are doing!  Leslie.

Hi,

I'm currently in a CPE program at a VA Hospital.  I incorporate TIC in my individual work and am experiencing many powerful connections with veterans. I am in no position to do more with Trauma Informed Care than my individual work.  In addition, I am certified in facilitating Traumatic Incident Reduction sessions, which help clear PTSD, anxiety and depression disorders in generally fewer than 25 hours.  I borrow from that background in my chaplain work as well.  I think these are excellent resources for chaplains.

Peace,
