I am in search of an assessment for local governmental entities. Does anyone know of a particular trauma-informed assessment tool that would be particularly focused on city/county governmental departments?

This is a great question. I’ve also been looking for something like this and have spoken to different organizations but have not found an actual assessment. If you find one could you share it. Thanks!!

The Institute on Trauma and Trauma-Informed Care has a trauma-informed organizational evaluation tool that looks at trauma-informed culture/climate, policies/procedures, readiness to change, etc. that's been adapted for a number of systems and departments.
You can see a reduced version of the culture/climate scale via our Trauma-Informed Organizational Change Manual, and our evaluation team would be happy to set-up a time to discuss what could make sense based on what you are hoping for and their experience evaluating trauma-informed change.

look at National Council on Behavioral Health. We participated in a year-long learning collaborative with them, part of which entailed completing a organizational assessment. Hope this helps.
