Does anyone provide training for bio-families that are going through the reunification with their children after being placed in foster care? This was identified as a need in our latest coalition meeting and I would be curious to see if anyone has done training with this situation?

You might want to check out the online trauma-informed nonviolent parenting course that we offer at Echo. Here's a video of one parent—she was eventually reunited with her children after completing our training and found it gave her the skills she needed. I'm sure she would love to speak with your parents if that would be helpful. Here is her story.

We have our nurses do a family visit after reunification and one of the things they do is provide a wellness packet that contains all kinds of healthy lifestyle information as well as parenting kids with trauma information. They also do ACEs education with the parent to include their score and ways to mitigate the effects of ACE's let me know if you would like me to send you a packet.
