I was asked today at a soldier church (like a Cowboy Church, except focusing on combat veterans), for the name of a book for a 12 year old boy who has lost a sister 13 years old to an accident stemming from a rare heart ailment and the loss of a father after a long chronic illness. His mother is also facing health difficulties at the present time. Thanks!

While not specific to the challenging things this boy has faced, one book you might check out is Jamieβs Gift: A Young Teenβs Guide to Fears, Worries, & Other Life Challenges (Like Being Irritated By Other People). It describes our neurobiology & body-/art- based, trauma-sensitive strategies for navigating life. I co-authored it a few years back with a 13yr old, who gave it a true teenβs voice/perspective. Itβs available on amazon or at www.wisemindservices.com/books.
